Trega updated it's dust collection system to meet OSHA national emphasis program for explosive dusts. A new dust collection unit and duct work costing $50,000 was installed in the summer of 2008 to meet this requirement. The installation reduces the risk of potential accidents, which allows us to control our costs.
Working with our furnace vendor at Morganite, Trega increased melting capacity without the capital expenditure of a new furnace. This was achieved by replacing the existing 900 lb. crucibles with larger 1200 lb. crucibles, expanding melting capacity 300 lbs. per furnace for a combined total of 900 lbs. of molten metal per shift. The project allowed Trega to increase melting capacity without capital expenditure, ensuring that our costs remain competitive.

Trega Corporation purchased and installed a Hall #3HSX Tilt Pour Casting Machine to increase our casting capacity of larger molds to satisfy our customer's lead times. This new larger casting machine will allow Trega to take on casting larger parts.
To meet growing business demands from our customers, Trega has added an additional Morganite Series 3 Electric Crucible Furnace, adding an additional 900 lbs. of melting capacity to our current 1800 lbs., for a total of 2700 lbs.
